What is a onetime password?

A Onetime Password (OTP) is a unique 6-charactercode, which Attijariwafa bank Egypt (AWB Egypt) sends to your registered mobile phone via SMS upon your request to make a transaction via a website, An OTP is a security action, which renders your online transactions safer and it deems a pre-requisite for completing such transaction. AWB Egypt sends an SMS OTP to your registered mobile phone for a one-time use only. You will have to obtain a new OTP if you do not login within the stipulated time.

For how long does an OTP stay valid?

An OTP is Valid for 10 Minutes as of sending it, after which time it expires. If the OTP expires, you have to cancel the transaction and request a new OTP. An OTP can be re-sent before the end of the specified login period in case, the first SMS was not received due to technical failure.

What happens if the OTP was mistakenly entered more than once?

The maximum permitted number of wrong for entering an OTP is three times, after which the service will be suspended. For re activation, you should call AWB Egypt’s call center on 16222 or 16122 for Premier Customers.

Can an OTP be saved to login next time for another transaction?

An OTP is valid for only one transaction, a new OTP is generated for each new transaction to be made. If multiple transactions are made, multiple OTPs are assigned on a transaction-by-transaction basis.

We recommend deleting the OTP from the mobile phone inbox after using the OTP and completing the transaction.

What should I do if I changed my mobile phone number registered with the bank?

You should promptly contact AWB Egypt call center on 16222 or 16122 for Premier Customers or visit your nearest branch to register your new mobile phone number so that OTP SMS can reach you and you can complete the transaction successfully online.
